Bride Runs Away From Wedding Venue After Realising Groom Is Not A Chevron Staff

This is the trending story of an hilarious moment when a new bride reportedly took to her heels from the venue of her wedding after realising that the man she was about saying ‘Yes, I do’ to was not who he claim to be.

The incident which was said have happened in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, according to a Facebook user who posted the picture of the runaway bride, the groom reportedly told the woman he met on social media that he worked with a giant oil company, Chevron Nigeria Plc.

The man had allegedly posted on his social media accounts that he was a staff of the multinational oil and gas company, but on the wedding day, the bride discovered that he had nothing to do with the oil company and decided to abandon her wedding.

But she could not go far enough as the groom and other guests gave her a hot chase and were able to persuade her to return back to the venue of the wedding.

Stakeholders Express Strong Reservations on Construction
of Shops Along GSS and Reservoir in Ilorin
The Kwara State House of Assembly says, it will not support
any project or Policy that will adversely affect the wellbeing
of the People of the State.
The Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad gave this indication in Ilorin at
the Weekend, while declaring open a Public hearing on
alleged illegal erection of Shops around GSS Ilorin and Water
Reservoir opposite Unilorin staff quarters, GRA Ilorin.
Dr. Ahmad represented by his Deputy, Elder Matthew
Okedare, said the Legislature, which is the mouth piece of
the People, would not support any project or policy that
would distort the master plan of Ilorin Metropolis , but
insisted that such should not be done at the detriment of the
People of the State.
In their various but passionate submissions, the
stakeholders insisted vehemently that the on going shop
projects at GSS and GRA Water Reservoir be demolished, as
the projects according to them, would be injurious to the
inhabitants of Ilorin Metropolis, and destroy the age long
aesthetic value of green areas, planted trees, flowers and
lawns initiated by successive governmentS in the State.
The affected stakeholders which included, the state chapter
of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Nigerian Institute
of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Ilorin Descendants
Progressive Union, the Head of Department of Regional and
Urban Development, University of Ilorin, the Chairman of the
Unilorin chapter of Academic Staff Union of University, Dr U
A Raheem, the old Students of Shiekh Abdulkadir College,
Muri Adi Estate and Valuers and the Petitioners GRA
Residents Association praised the doggedness of the
Legislature, saying that the house had demonstrated
through the Public Hearing that governance is by the People
and for the People.
Other Stakeholders, especially those from the side of the
State government said the Shops may not be injurious, if
adequate measures were put in place, by the relevant
agencies of government to mitigate against identified
disasters, due to the construction of the Shops in the
affected areas.
The government Stakeholders, which included the state
Bureau of Land, the state Town Planning and Development
Authority, Ministries of Justice, Water Resources as well as
Education and Human Capital Development, the Independent
Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria said the
affected areas, prior to the construction of the shops
constituted security threat and expressed confidence that
the shops would among other things ensure security in the
areas, improve the revenue base of the state government,
boost commercial activities in the areas, while proceeds
from proposed shops along Fate road would be used to
provide infrastructure in the School to enhance effective
teaching and learning.
Earlier, the Chairman, House Committee on Land, Housing
and Urban Development, Hon. Adamu Usman had explained
that the public hearing was held to seek stakeholders' views
on the construction of Shops in the affected areas and
assured that their views would be collated and reflected in
the Committee's report to guide the entire House in
proffering appropriate, realistic and enduring solutions to the
problem.

*MARRIED IN SCHOOL BUT SINGLE AT HOME.*

Pls share with teens, youth and Group Chats that care to read and be Enlightened.
Welcome to Nigerian campuses where little girls are practising 'wifely functions'!
Just visit the boys' hostels and you would be disappointed to find out that it is now common for a girl to live in with a course mate. It is now common for her lover to give her the popular compliment 'you look sexy my gal' and she would gladly reply 'thank you honey' with a flirty voice and a romantic smile.
Who is her lover?
A 300 level student whose CGPA is barely up to 1.78! And they are aiming for the next best couple award for the session by the departmental association. So, the girl need to live in with him to prepare along.
What nonsense! It seems that some girls
suddenly loose their senses immediately they
gain admission. I've seen that some of them
have no more sense of caution, honour and
dignity. They would change their wardrobes and acquire a new set of make ups just to look
'campussy' and sexy enough for the guys. In
months, they would start sleeping around with
little boys. I mean boys who collect pocket
money from their uncles! Dirty boys who most
of the time are infected with sexually
transmitted diseases. Hey! I want you to know
that you were sent to school to obtain a degree
not a disease. The campus is called a school;
school not sex! You are on campus to receive
education not ejaculation. You are here to
master the use of a pen not the pleasures of a
penis. Wake up girl! Do some thinking. Your
future is greater than the 'best couple award'.
You cook for a boy you are more intelligent than.
You give your virginity to a boy who will
definitely leave you after graduation. You play
wife to a boy who cannot even care for himself.
Oh, you have given too much. Enough! Open
your eyes! Can't you see you're being foolish?
You are passing through the fears of unwanted
pregnancies yet you are opening your legs to a
coward who cannot stand before your father.
And when you eventually gets pregnant, he
would brutally advise you to abort it and you
would timidly agree; then face the consequences later. What a shame! You may master the use of condoms but you can't master the punishment of your conscience.
Don't you know you are bringing shame to your
family? Don't you know that you are cursing your mother by accepting to sleep with a boy (not even a man) without her consent?
I cautioned a girl against sleeping around and she replied 'Sheddy, I don't sleep around; its only one boyfriend I have and am faithful to him'. What impunity! That's classified harlotry. And don't you know that sleeping with a man without your father's blessings is bringing a curse to your future?
What happened to your cultural values?
Somewhere in your heart you know he would
use you and dump you; so why are you setting
up yourself for a heartbreak? I want to remind
you that you are a lady and one day you may get married. And your husband would know that you are such a dirty bitch who sleeps with
anything on trousers. The greatest gift a lady
would give to her husband on the wedding night is her virginity less lost it out of (rape) not the certificate of best couple of the year on campus!
The other gifts for the rest of her life are her
care and character not her curves and
complexion! Real men know this; so, get it
screwed in!
Those treacherous boys would call you 'sexy'
and you would answer? Oh, sorry! They touch
your breast and you would smile? They would
ask you out and you would oblige? Oh, you are
indeed a mistake. Am not saying that you should be rude or never live a 'social life' but I want you to think deeper than you are currently doing. I want to turn your attention back to your books.
You are not in school for breast exhibition. So,
pay less attention to those boobs and give more attention to your books! You are not in school for cat walking show. You are rather here to show us the dignity of womanhood. You are here to prove to us that you are costly. So, why make yourself so cheap?
I am writing this with both love and pain in my
heart and that's why am sounding stern. I know
about two girls now that have been living with
their boyfriend since year one and as it is now
they can't even even count how many abortions
they had for that same boy at sch bae it's now like a normal thing to them, the last one she did
almost took her life and that made her bleed for
4months, imagine how you do feel with ordinary 4 days of menstruation left alone living with it for months.. As a matter of fact one of them have damaged her fallopian tube due to excessive use of contraceptives she has taken to prevent pregnancy. I want you to look beyond now and think of what advise you would give your own daughter when you become a mother. I hope I have not offended you...if I have, please repent.
To the decent girls I have seen on campus: do
not be swayed by these evil. Be consistent and
keep celebrating your purity. I am always proud
of you. And God is more proud of you. Please
share this message with all our youths and our teens.
Thanks. Pls share with teens, youth and Group Chats that care to read and b[truncated by WhatsApp]

Chukwudi has arrived again! This Time the Christians Vs Students Affairs

The Kwara State College of Education Ilorin Students Affairs has been said to have evacuate the CHRISTIAN STUDENTS living in the christian room in the hostel also....
Following the evacuation of the Muslim students in the MSSN room few days ago, the Christians has also been evacuated from their CHRISTIAN ROOM also today....
When interviewed about the reason for the action, we were informed that the MSSN has gone to the extent of writing the S.A units that it's biased of them to evacuate them (MSSN) only without the Christians too being evacuated.....
So following this letter written to them was the reason for evacuation of today....
But it's only the MSSN we had that were having administrative issues, are the CHRISTIANS ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM?

WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS MY FELLOW STUDENTS?

Here is the Elected SUG President Photograph

MSSN VS STUDENTS AFFAIRS UNIT

Drama yesterday, When the STUDENTS AFFAIRS UNIT came to forcefully evict the occupants of the MUSLIMS STUDENTS SOCIETY OF NIGERIA (MSSN) room at Boys Hostel and Girls hostel also without a quit notice, and instantly locked up the rooms.
At first our reporter tried to get one or two informations about the reason for the ACT, but the both parties refused to give out any to us, so we later started our own investigations and Thank God we got a CLUE.
We later discovered that the action came up due to a DISAGREEMENT which came up between the two parties at the STUDENTS AFFAIRS UNIT yesterday when the UNITS were trying to settle the rifts between the MSSN and other ISLAMIC SOCIETIES(TIJANNIYAH,QADIRIYAH ETC) in the campus based on the matter of the ALI SUNNAH'S not giving room for POWER SHARING AND POWER SHIFTING I.e not allowing them to participate in the MSSN government in the campus.
They complained that" those ALI SUNNAH'S are just centralising the society to themselves without giving room for others.
Complaints also came up that the society are going beyond their boundaries by behaving NONCHALANTLY to the STUDENTS AFFAIRS UNIT OFFICERS by not taking the right measures at times. I.e writing to the PROVOST OFFICE OR MANAGEMENT directly, instead of delivering the letters through the right and Lawful way(STUDENTS AFFAIRS UNITS).

Also the current EXCOS of the SOCIETY was ACCUSED of TAKING AWAY WITH THEM THE BUS THAT WAS BOUGHT WITH THE ASSOCIATION'S FUND, which was supposed to be a LEFT BEHIND PROJECT AND ASSET TO THE INCOMMING EXCOS.

Also when the issue was being settled by the STUDENTS AFFAIRS Yesterday, they (MSSN) did not Agree to the terms given to them. So the MANAGEMENT in order to make PEACE reign for now DECIDED to DEROBE them for some time, and then see to the issue at a good Time.

WHAT'S YOUR OWN VIEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE? IS EVICTION THE NEXT OPTION TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OR WHAT?
LET'S HEAR YOUR OPINIONS

NO LIGHT! NO WATER!! NO SECURITY!!!

college-logo.jpg

No Light! No Water!! No Security!!!
This was the melody that was being sang at the SHEKONI MALE HOSTEL today at about 12:15am by the school IJMB students lodging at the hostel, when some female students came to report the case of being attacked and robbed during their usual night class reading in the IJMB HALL.
The students were reportedly attacked by some UNKNOWN MEN while reading in the class.
During the campusechoe's investigations, we were able to speak with some of the affected students (MALES),a student names withheld said"this is not the first time we were being attacked in the class while reading, while security men are believed to be patrolling the school but no one has ever came to our rescue, he explained that today's attack was perfectly planned because we (Males) were there with them (ladies) while reading, so when NEPA took the light we decided to go back to the hostel, leaving only the ladies there, surprisingly, it hasn't been more than 5 minutes we left, when the ladies came down to our hostel to inform us about what happened after we've left and securities will say they are on patrol during the night.
Another major issue being complained by the students (IJMB) was that since the past three months they have resumed, they haven't had the access to clean water and electricity, A student during the interview said"we have to go as far as the school chapel (FCS) before we could get water to bath and some other domestic uses then Opeyemi street to get clean tap water to drink.
he added that complaints has been lodged but nothing has been done to make the water system at the both hostel to continue functioning.
The students later decided to conduct a peaceful protest to the STUDENTS AFFAIRS UNIT and the PROVOST OFFICE respectively by tomorrow morning before going for their lectures.
OUR REPORTERS WILL BE ON THE LOOKOUT TO SEE HOW THE PROTEST WILL GO..

Club girl steals customer’s ATM card, withdraws N.3mOnOctober 3, 2016

Club girl steals customer’s ATM card, withdraws N.3mOnOctober 3, 2016 By Evelyn Usman Operativesof the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of Lagos State Police Command, weekend, arrested a club girl, who allegedly stole one of her male customers’ Automated Teller Machine, ATM, while the latter was sleeping. The suspect said she stole the money tostock her shop and take care of her daughter. At the time of the arrest, she was discovered to have successfully withdrawn N300,000 from the account. Arrested alongside the 24-year-old suspect, identified as Bamigboye Imoleayo, were three accomplices, among who was her boyfriend. Two Android phones, eight pairs of trousers and shirts, suspected to have been bought with the illegally-withdrawn money, were recovered from the suspects. The victim, identified simply as Alli, visited the club on September 23, where he met the suspect.Apprehension, according to him, set in next day, after he received an SMS debit alert of N90,000 on his phone.Alli said: “While I was still contemplating on how to deal with theissue, I got another debit alert for buying two Infinix phones totalling N84,000. I was confused and shocked. I didn’t know what action to take on a Saturday evening.“Again, on Sunday, there was anotherdebit. I couldn’t pin the crime to the lady I met at the club. I lodged a complaint, last Monday morning, at my bank and I was told that the withdrawals and shopping were legitimately made by me.“I then reported the incident at the RRS’s office. My emphasis to the police was the withdrawals and shopping totalling N300,000. It was unbelievable when I met face-to-facewith the suspect, only to discover it was the lady I met at the club.

SNAKE IN THE BOYS HOSTEL

snake1.jpgsnake.jpg Trauma at the boys hostel, when a long green/yellow snake was found wandering about in an empty room, this room was recently vacated by the Former President of SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT, popularly called"JONATHAN" An eye witness of the saga during an interview explained how it happened"He said, it was around 8pm when he was coming in then he feels uneasy then decided to branch the room for a nylon, then suddenly he saw the crawling creature running about in the room, instantly he called the attention of some guys then when they got to the scene the snake made it's way inside a hole at the doorstep, so the hole was blocked with a stone to avoid it coming out before their arrival, they then decided to pour hot water in the hole to force it out, but after doing that it refused to come out so they decided to expand the hole, they did and started stabbing it with sticks before it eventually came out and was being hit by them, The snake was found two days after his vacation says a resident. An interview between our Correspondent and an hostelite names withheld, reveals that, "the snake might have been in the room for a couple of days, but due to the snake not hearing the footsteps or sound of humans in the room anymore, that's why it came out. Another person also residing in the hostel also added that "several cases concerning killing of snakes has always been reported in the female hostels also earlier before now which the school management has done their part by fumigating the environment for them but nevertheless the snakes keep appearing. Cases of no water and adequate toilet facilities was also a typical issue we are battling says a resident. we urge the School SUG and the management to help look into these situations. Recession: Blame constitution, not past regimes, Akinyemi tells Buhari

Recession: Blame
constitution, not past
regimes, Akinyemi tells
Buhari
October 3, 2016
Ramon Oladimeji and Alexander Okere
A former Minister of External Affairs, Prof. Bolaji
Akinyemi, says it is misleading for President
Muhammadu Buhari to blame past regimes for the
failure of the country to save for the rainy day.
Rather than demonise his predecessors by heaping
blames on them for the country’s woes, Akinyemi,
who was the deputy chairman of the 2014 National
Conference, told Buhari to blame the country’s plight
on the constitution.
According to him, the failure of the country to save
was rooted in Section 162 of the 1999 Constitution,
which made it mandatory for the largest chunk of the
revenue generated by the country to be deposited into
a central account for onward distribution among the
federal, state and local governments.
Akinyemi, who said this in a statement on Sunday,
clarified that he was not out to defend any of the past
leaders, some of whom he said deserved bashing,
having refused “to retire into graceful silence.”
The ex-minister, however, said his intervention was
motivated by the desire to focus the government’s
attention on the real solution to the nation’s problem.
He said, “If we have to lay blame, it should be at the
door of those responsible for the 1999 Constitution.
This does not mean Gen. Abubakar Abdulsalam alone,
or the military regime alone but includes elements of
the judiciary and civilians who were all instrumental in
midwifing that constitution.
“Serious attempts were made by both the (Olusegun)
Obasanjo and (Goodluck) Jonathan administrations to
put in place savings through the backdoor such as the
Excess Crude Accounts and Commonwealth Savings
Funds. Both were frustrated by the states and the
judiciary. The irony in Nigerian history is that some of
the state governors, who spearheaded the opposition
to the attempts to save, are now prominent in the
cabinet and the Senate.”
As opposed to merely blaming his predecessors,
Akinyemi advised Buhari to push for the amendment
of the constitution by particularly modelling it after the
Norwegian constitution.
He explained that the Norwegian model involved
pooling 100 per cent of government’s revenues from
royalties and dividends into a central account with a
provision that not more than four per cent could be
withdrawn in a year.
Akinyemi said, “What previous administrations failed
to do and which the present Buhari administration
should do is to single-mindedly drive a constitutional
amendment that would follow the Norwegian model.
“The Norwegian experience involves setting up a
Government Pension Fund Global into which 100 per
cent of the government’s revenue from royalties and
dividends are paid. In any one year, no more than four
per cent is allowed to be drawn from the account.
“The Nigerian model, given our peculiar federalism,
can include a provision that any withdrawal from the
fund must be with a unanimous decision of the
members of the National Economic Council. This is
the way forward and goes beyond name-calling and
the blame game.”
Meanwhile, the General Superintendent of the Deeper
Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called
on Nigerians to be hopeful of a better society.
Kumuyi also called on the Federal Government to
diversify the economy from oil to other sectors like
agriculture and tourism.
The cleric, who spoke at the Benin Airport on
Saturday, en route to Delta State for a religious
programme, noted that the citizens should be
proactive rather than look at the “negative” side of the
country.
He explained, “(We have to) look at our economy and
look at diversification, so that we are not just
depending on oil alone, which everybody is realising
now.
“We need to go into agriculture, into tourism and other
things that will generate resources and funds for the
country. Look elsewhere out of oil for the country’s
economic growth.”
Kumuyi also expressed concern over the growing
cases of clerics allegedly indulging in immoralactivities, adding that “everybody is disturbed by the
development we see in some places.”
He noted that with Nigeria at 56, there was the need to
thank God for the progress made so far.
The cleric said, “We thank God that democracy is
taking root and we are making progress. There are
things to look into for us to become a better society.
But we are thanking God for what has happened
already.”
On his assessment of the Muhammadu Buhari
administration, Kumuyi said, “Sometimes in school,
we allow the students to finish their exams before we
assess them.
“Sometimes when you assess midway, you do not get
the right assessment. So, I think I like to still observe
more to see where we are going. So, when we get
there, we will be able to assess properly.”
