HISTORY!!! IS MOREMI AJASORO, THE HEROINE OF LIBERTY A TRAITOR AS THE OLUGBO OF UGBO LAND HAS LABELLED HER OR AN HEROINE??? COMMENTS AFTER READING IS HIGHLY NEEDED....

HISTORY OF MOREMI AJASORO, THE HEROINE OF LIBERTY!

MOREMI AJASORO: HEROINE OF LIBERTY

The Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom in Ilaje area of Ondo State, Oba Obateru Akinruntan has of recent been distorting history and fanning the ember of enmity among the Yoruba Obas and the Yoruba nation at large. Sadly, the same Olugbo is the chairman of an amorphous body that goes by the name ‘Yoruba Obas Committee on Peace and Reconciliation’.
The Olugbo has repeatedly referred to Moremi as a traitor against her widely acclaimed tag as a heroine of liberty. I have taken it upon myself to put the record straight and lay same bare before the court of public opinion to judge whether Moremi was a traitor as Oba Akinruntan claimed or a heroine as the world has come to accept her.

The abridged history of Moremi will suffice here.

Moremi Omowumi Ayoka Okin, was born in Offa as a princess (and this is my locus stance). She grew up in Offa to become a ravishingly beautiful young lady who later got married to Ooni Oranmiyan of Ile Ife. As a result of her beauty and astuteness, she soon became the Aayo (Queen Consort) of Ooni Oranmiyan and the only one who had his ears on vital issues about the kingdom.

During her stay in Ile-Ife, the ancient city was incessantly raided by a group of warriors who were believed to be from the outer space. This was as a result of their weird dressing as they were usually cladded in dried raffia fronds from head to toes. On each occasion, these warriors carted away food items, materials, and humans as slaves. These unrelenting raids on the ancestral home of the Yoruba was giving King Oranmiyan (himself a renowned warrior) a grave concern. Queen Moremi noticed this mood swing of her husband and asked him why he was brooding endlessly of recent. King Oranmiyan told her it was these mysterious raiders that were giving him serious concern. Queen Moremi instantly decided to do all within her power to restore her husband’s happy mood.
She went to consult the goddess of River Esinmirin (still in Ile-Ife) and made a vow that if she could be granted the power to overcome the mysterious invaders, she was ready to sacrifice anything the goddess of Esinmirin demanded. The goddess told her to allow herself to be captured when next the invaders come around. As instructed, on the next invasion by the mysterious invaders, Moremi unlike the rest of the inhabitants deliberately allowed herself to be captured by the invaders and taken as a slave to their place which turned out to be Ugbo (the home of Oba Akinruntan).
Upon setting his eyes on the war booties, the then reigning Olugbo of Ugbo could not take his eyes off the paragon of beauty that was Moremi. He subsequently decreed that she be handed over to him as a wife. Moremi became the Olugbo’s wife and soon got elevated as the Queen Consort in the Olugbo’s palace. During a moment of passion, Moremi craftily told the Olugbo that she was enjoying everything about her new home except the dreadful warriors especially the way they dressed. The lecherous Olugbo told Moremi that the warriors were merely cladded in dried raffia fronds which were highly combustible.

After this all important disclosure, Moremi surreptitiously plotted her escape back to Ile-Ife. She immediately revealed the secret to her original husband, Oranmiyan and some elders of Ile-Ife. The entire Ile-Ife folks then mobilised and strategized against the next invasion of the marauders who were now known to be coming from Ugbo land. As envisaged, the Ugbo invaders came calling again in their usual raffia fronds attire and Moremi leading the Ile-Ife people carried firebrands made of Oguso (a highly combustible by-product of palm kennel). The Ugbo warriors were attacked and quite a number of them were burnt to death. The remnants that escaped to Ugbo land narrated their experience of the unprecedented defeat and the fact that it was the missing queen of Olugbo that led the counter-attack. In any case, that was the end of the Ugbo invasion of Ile-Ife.
The Ugbo people were devastated on the number of casualty suffered and the fact that their King must have revealed their secret to his consort. It was then decreed that it has become a taboo for any Ugbo man to marry any fair complexion lady as a result of the Moremi experience with the Olugbo.
Back in Ile-Ife, while the euphoria of the defeat of the Ugbo invaders was still going on, the goddess of Esinmirin demanded that Moremi should fulfil her vow as made before embarking on the mission to Ugbo land. Moremi offered animals, foods, and other items but Esinmirin rejected all. The only sacrifice Esinmirin wanted was Moremi only child and son Ela Oluorogbo. She eventually sacrificed him to the Esinmirin goddess in fulfilment of her vow. In appreciation, the entire Ile-Ife promised to be her children and fill the gap of the sacrificed Ela Oluorogbo.
However, the other queens in the palace mocked Moremi as being childless to spite her for taking much of their husband’s attention. In anger, Moremi came to Offa to meet her father who was the reigning Olofa then. She got to Offa at dusk when the Olofa had retired and could no longer receive visitors to the palace. The guards could not recognise her (apparently due to her disguise to escape from Ile-Ife palace) and instructed her to wait at the palace gate till dawn when the Olofa would see her. She insisted on entering the palace but the guards stood their grounds. In frustration, she walked few meters away from the palace gate and put her luggage beneath the Araba tree.
By the morning of the following day, the Olofa was informed of the strange female visitor that came the previous night and the king asked that she should be brought before him. However, when the guards went to fetch the visitor, Moremi could not be found. Only her luggage was brought before Kabiesi and he instantly recognised them to be Moremi’s own. The spot where she left her luggage was where the original Moremi’s house was erected directly opposite the Olofa’s Palace.
Moremi was never seen again in Offa or at Ile-Ife. The probability of her disappearance was that she eventually ended up with her beloved son Ela Oluorogbo in the same River Esinmirin. To commemorate her heroic actions, she is celebrated annually in Offa as ONIMOKA and three months after in Ile-Ife as EDI where the people carry the symbolic firebrand.
Having taken readers through this abridged historical excursion, can the role of Moremi be tagged as that of a traitor or a heroine?

In the first place, she allowed herself to be captured solely to liberate her people which she achieved. An apt but sad similitude is this – if the federal government of Nigeria could get a lady to ‘marry’ Abubakar Shekau today and that leads to some tactical information to wipe out the remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents, would such a lady be a villain or a heroine?

I leave the readers to form their opinion on this.

"THE POWER OF ETHNIC FURY" READ AND DIGEST AND REMEMBER TO COMMENT

THE POWER OF ETHNIC FURY

Yoruba tradition is elegant and rich. It has a place for old and young. The race has a great sense of history and that is why those who cling to the past do so with great risk to the future. The Yoruba has a word for every occurrence. They have rules and order as well as check and balances. Their rules and order has remained a template and a feat for their strategic brilliance.
Their quest for freedom and independence-craving resistance against internal colonisation hastened their launch into civilisation and modernisation. It was a spirit of cultural democracy and economic liberty. It was the spirit that took over control when people have had enough and cannot take it anymore. That spirit resides in every race, human group and in every human being.
From the North to South and West (Central) of Kwara State, the people are endowed with a mix and rich tradition laden with memories of economic and political resistance. But regrettably today, the varying tribes in the state have not allowed this richness to do good things against those that hold down their progress. The Nupes of Patigi to those of Lafiagi and the Barubas of Kaiama and Baruten, all have rich traditions that do not yield to the erosion of their freedom of conscience. They all hold dear their obsession with hard work and detest laziness and parasitism. While the Nupe class also have a history of insatiable appetite for territorial control because of their prowess, the Baruba – brawn and guile are full of poisonous spat that signifies a resistance to enslavement of their able bodied men and women.
The Igbomina and Ibolo stock are majorly proud, rich and cosmopolitan, they took the advantage of western education and commerce early enough to project themselves into civilisation. Confident and egregiously compassionate, this race has no stomach for exploitation and they also have abiding faith in their cherished values.
The West (Central) is a mix of Yoruba and Fulani. Both have a long and historic and evangelical relationship with a devotion lined and often disturbed by old wounds of tribal animosity. However, the dominance of Yoruba tradition laced with Fulani’s disdain for parochialism had served a fundamental impulse for its embrace of modernisation.
The significance of all these is to determine whether there can be a more unifying and dignifying route through which Kwara can reclaim its dignity and identity as a state and be free from servitude in spite of its peoples present and obvious failure to identify ways to confront its political and ideological challenges. It is settled here that no tradition espouses human surrender to evil. The preachment of our values only emphasised that genuine human beings with moral conscience must exploit those core values as a weapon to redesign and redefine its manifest destiny. If those values had in the past served as a check and balance mechanism in our conduct, it is only wise enough for Kwara to aggregate all of these as a weapon against any internal oppression. The Yoruba of Western Nigeria once exploited this route shortly after the demise of Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo when his daughter Tokunbo Dosunmu attempted to wear her father’s garb. She was told in plain language that their tradition and values do not permit them to worship father and daughter. Kwara must have the courage to also do this. What we cannot do with our minds, we should do with what our tradition and forefathers bequeathed to us.  Kwarans history is a history of a great and inspiring state but regrettably we have allowed those who hold down our progress to redefine our history.
While our thinking is so clumsy we have been deluded by the narrowness of our self-interest  that we failed to see the falsehood surrounding the cult –like aura in Senator Bukola Saraki to the point of self-harm. Sympathetic outsiders say we have continued to bungle our chances by even creating artificial divisions that should have been bridged long ago by our determination to exploit the opportunities of our rich tradition and all its attendant possibilities. Kwara is in a contest of order versus chaos. It is in this state that we have witnessed how too many people have died and more will. Even though there are competing accounts of their death, those in whose hands they died never offered us any explanations. Rather what we get is a reminder that throughout history, it has been extremely difficult to prosecute a ‘civil war’ without killing your own people. And that in a war he who wins at the point of his bayonet dictates the peace.
Kwara must be particularly accursed to suffer first under a homicidal father then a son who has sadly remained obedient to his father’s benighted creed. The truth is that their goal is not to remake Kwara but to cripple it and its people. But this market is about to close. But for our inability to do something breaks to Senator Saraki's advantage. And not to be a conduit for his perpetuation, we must have recourse.
From Kwara North through Central and South, it is really a dire moment for a once proud people. Kwara was not conceived on falsehood but why is it that its people are paralysed and cannot think their problems through. It took the sweat and sacrifice of great men and women who recognised the richness of our people to fight for Kwara to be born. It is doubtful if some of these people who with grace still lived, would regard what Kwara is going through today as their happy ending.
This surely is not the Kwara of their dream neither is it ours.  The richness of our values has offered us with innumerable ways we can stand-up to our challenges. Whether Yoruba, Nupe, Baruba or Fulani, our values are our heritage and have in the past offered our forefathers recipe to some of their major problems. We can take opportunity of this and effectively use it to unblock the wedges between our transits from first degree oppression to modernity. Senator Bukola Saraki may be basking in temporary triumph and be thinking differently but he cannot remain happy for long. I remind him that happiness itself has a delicate body and one cannot always be too sure of its treacherous embrace.

Please let's rub minds together, consider and provide identity for ourselves in order to put an end to cases like stealing of motorcycles, rape, attacks of students by hoodlums and the like. The S.U.G. has tried with pleas to the entire students to provide identity and stop these vices/misconducts I've mentioned. If at all the management can not meet our needs, indeed we students of nowadays have been deprived of our rights. In this regard, I'm using this medium to plead with my fellow students to display good colours and uniformity next year, 2017 (using of our schools lanyards and departmental I.D. Cards). WE ARE SENATORS AND SHOULDN'T BE EMBARASSED BY COMRADES IN THE SCHOOL - UNITS PRESIDENTS

THURSDAY,22ND, DECEMBER, 2016

Kasala burst at the BSA office yesterday evening, following the commotion that happened in the BSA office that Noon which involves some misunderstandings that happened between them which we were unable to penetrate into the matter.
It all happened when the UPDFs (UNITS PRESIDENTS DEVELOPMENTAL FORUM) in which the BSA president is also a key member were having their meeting, but the BSA President wasn't on sit with them, the chairman during an interview said "I personally called his line times without numbers but he isn't picking up, then I sent three senators to go and informed him that his presence is needed ASAP because we want to conduct an election, but the senators returned to say the BSA President is also in a meeting with his executives which was the reason he hasn't joined us,but after waiting to no avail , we all decided to pay him a visit so that he could hasten up, but to our surprise we were COUNTERED BY THE BSA EXECUTIVES CLAIMING WE WERE THERE TO DISORGANIZED THEIR MEETING, this really sadden us and we were really embarrassed by the way we were challenged, most especially their CHIEF WHIP AND SRC1, but thank God everything has been resolved and we are all at peace again.
The SRC1 also spoked with our correspondence saying"at first I wasn't the one who challenged them but when they came in and a senator BANGED THE TABLE TO CREATE A NOISY ATMOSPHERE, THAT WAS WHY I ALSO GOT ANGRY AND ACT THAT WAY. but to make peace reign I have apologized to the chairman and also will be in their next meeting to apologize to the whole senators also.
The BSA President himself explained that "I am very sorry for the way my executives challenged my fellow senators, like seriously, I don't think they all know them and as we all know how painful it is when we are conducting a meeting and a stranger comes in, but assuming my chief whip have discharged his duty as he has supposed to the rift wouldn't have happened that way but we thank God both parties have accepted blames and seek apologies from each other although I was told that the senators requested that I come with all my ecxos most especially my SRC 1 and CHIEF WHIP and I have accepted that an promised to do that.
Although our correspondence was challenged taking pictures but successfully took some.

STRANGE BUT TRUE! INDONESIAN WAYS OF BURYING THEIR DEADS... READ AND COMMENT

Every society has its own way of dealing with death and the deceased. There are innumerable beliefs about what becomes of our spirit upon our inevitable death, and human beings have a long tradition of funeral practices, ceremonies, and rituals as varied as the many cultures they derive from. No matter what the culture or belief system, in most cases the deceased corpse itself remains dead throughout the practice, but in one society in Indonesia this is not the case.

For in the Toraja culture the term“Walking Dead” is not a metaphorical term but rather very literal indeed. The Toraja are an ethnic group of people indigenous to the mountains of South Sulawesi,Indonesia. The Toraja people are renowned for their wood carvings and their peculiar traditional, ancestral houses with huge, peaked roofs that sweep up like a boat, which are known astongkonan, but they are even more well known for their elaborate and bizarre funeral rites and burial sites. This macabre fascination with death can be seen everywhere in Toraja villages, from the elaborate burial sites carved directly into craggy cliffs to the traditional tongokonan houses that are immaculately decorated with the horns of buffalos, a symbol of wealth, and used almost exclusively as resting places for the corpses of recently deceased relatives. However, it is in their funeral rites that truly showcase the Toraja culture of death.Toraja corpses being tended toThe Toraja have a strong belief in the afterlife, and the process from death to burial is a long one. When a person dies, the corpse is typically washed and kept in the tongokonan while it awaits its funeral and subsequent burial. In poorer families, the body may simply be kept in another room of their own home. Since the Toraja funeral ceremony is typically an extravagant affair requiring all relatives to be present no matter how far away they may be, and bodies are usually entombed within coffins placed within burial caves painstakingly carved into limestone cliffs, weeks or even months can pass between death and burial. This time is required for all arrangements to be made, relatives to be gathered, and for money to be saved in order to pay for the expensive funeral and burial. This is not unusual, nor is it particularly unpleasant for villagers. In Toraja society it is believed that the process of death is a long one, as the soul gradually makes its way to the afterlife, known as Puya; the Land of the Souls. During this waiting period, the corpse is still treated somewhat as if they are still alive, as the soul is believed to linger nearby awaiting its journey to Puya. The body is dressed, groomed and cleaned regularly, and even offered meals every day, just as if it were still a living member of the family. It is not even unusual for guests to thank the corpse for being a gracious host. When all arrangements have been made and all are present, the funeral ceremony begins. Relatives tending to a corpse Depending on the level of wealth the deceased had enjoyed in life, these can be incredibly extravagant, including massive feasts and lasting for days. During the ceremony, hundreds of relatives and extended family gather at ceremonial sites called rante, and express their grief with singing, the playing of music and chanting. A common feature at these events, especially for the wealthy, is the offering of water buffalo and pigs for sacrifice. These buffalo and pigs are thought to be required for the spirit of the deceased when they pass over to the afterlife, and the more animals that are sacrificed, the faster the journey is said to be. To this end, depending on the wealth of the family, up to tens of buffalo and hundreds of pigs are slaughtered, with the event drawing the fanfare of revelers who dance or attempt to catch the flying blood with bamboo straws. After the animals have been killed, the heads of the buffalo are often lined up on a field to await their dead owner. The spilling of blood upon the earth is thought to be an important component of the soul’s transition to Puya, and in some cases special cockfights known as bulangan londongare held for this purpose, as if the blood of all of those buffalo and pigs was not enough. When the funeral festivities have ended, the body is ready for burial.
Typically the corpse will be placed within a wooden box, after which it will be interred not in the ground but rather in either a specially carved burial cave just for this purpose, a naturally formed cave that fits the requirements, or in the case of babies or small children it will be hung from a cliff with thick ropes until the ropes rot and the coffin falls to the ground, after which it will be reattached. The reason for placing the dead so high up is that the Toraja believe that they must be placed between Heaven and Earth in order for the spirit to find its way to the afterlife. Within the burial caves are placed all of the tools and equipment the person’s spirit may need in the afterlife, including money (hey, you never know) and oddly piles of cigarettes (hey, it’s a hard habit to break), as well as rows of life-sized wooden effigies of the deceased which are meant to watch over them, and are referred to as tau Tau. Burial caves may have only one coffin and be elaborate mausoleums decked out in elaborate decorations for the rich, or may be packed with the numerous coffins of a whole family. Some of these graves are over 1,000 years old, with the coffins completely rotted away and nothing but bones and skulls remaining. Toraja burial caves however, this is not the last anyone will see of the bodies, for it is after the actual burial that the Toraja enact perhaps their most unusual ritual concerning the dead. Once a year, in August, villagers return to the burial caves in order to remove the bodies and change their clothes, groom them, and bathe them, as well as repair as much as possible any damage the coffins may have incurred. This ritual is known as Ma’nene, or “The Ceremony of Cleaning Corpses,” and is performed on the deceased no matter how long they have been dead or what age they may have been. Some of the corpses have been in the caves so long that they have been mummified. After the corpses are freshened up, villagers will hold the them upright and “walk” them from the village to their place of death and back again, after which the body is placed back in its coffin and returned to its cave until the following year, when the whole morbid process will be repeated. Although this all may seem rather macabre and bizarre, some remote areas still allegedly practice an even older, even weirder ceremony in which the dead are said to literally walk on their own. One thing common to all of the funeral ceremonies and rites of the Toraja is that in order for the spirit to be able to pass into the afterlife certain conditions must be met. First, all of the relatives and extended family of the deceased must be present for the funeral. Second, the deceased must be interred in the village of their birth. If these conditions are not met, it is said that the soul will forever linger around its body in a state of limbo, and unable to journey to Puyauntil they are, a belief that in the old days of stark remoteness dissuaded most from travelling too far from their village lest they be trapped and tethered to their dead body in some faraway place. This all posed some challenges in the past, as before the 20thcentury and subsequent colonization by the Dutch, the Toraja lived in remote, autonomous villages that were completely isolated from each other and the outside world, with no roads connecting them. When a villager died far from his birthplace, it was difficult for family to retrieve the body and carry it back through rugged, mountainous terrain to its place of origin. The solution to this problem was unique to say the least. In order to make sure the corpse was able to be returned to their village of birth and spare the family the hardship of carrying it themselves, special shamans were sought out who allegedly had the power to temporarily bring the dead back to life. The particular brand of black magic used by the shamans only brought the dead back to life in the most rudimentary sense. These walking corpses were said to be largely unaware of their surroundings and non responsive, expressionless, and uncoordinated, only able to perform the most basic tasks such as walking. Upon being brought back to life, the walking corpse was said to shamble stiffly and robotically towards its village of birth, often guided by the shaman or a procession of family members, but sometimes on its own. Special runners would move out ahead of the group to warn others that a walking corpse was passing through. The walk back to the village was meant to be a completely silent, somber affair, and it is said that if anyone addressed the corpse directly by name it would immediately collapse and lose whatever power animates it. It is not clear whether a bullet to the head would accomplish the same effect, but I must assume it would. Now before anyone reading this panics and starts preparing for an inevitable zombie outbreak, it is important to note that the process is only temporary and the effects only last until the corpse reaches its birthplace, although depending on the distances involved this can take days or even weeks. No word on what happens if a villager dies overseas. Throughout this time, the “zombie” is not a snarling creature that attacks the living but rather is totally passive, showing no interest in or recognition of those around it. Once the walking dead reaches its home village, it reverts back to being a mere corpse to await its funeral in the normal manner of being bathed, offered meals, and redressed every day. In some traditions, the body will be reanimated once more in order to make its way to the coffin in which it will be buried. Shamans who could raise the dead did not restrict their dark practices to only human beings. It is said that at some funeral ceremonies magic would be cast upon the carcasses of the animals slaughtered for sacrifice, and there are stories of the shamans bringing the bodies of headless buffaloes to life in order to walk about, or to make the decapitated heads move, look around, grimace, or cry out. The same thing was sometimes said to be done to slaughtered pigs and chickens too. Often the purpose of this gruesome display was so that the shaman could demonstrate his powers in a public display before being called upon to raise a human being. Alleged photo of a walking Toraja corpse Nowadays, with plenty of roads and ample access to transportation, the purported walking dead ritual is largely seen as unnecessary and so in modern times, the practice of bringing the dead to life to walk has declined and is rare to find in Toraja society.  Indeed, many of the younger generation do not believe in such stories at all. However, some remote villages still allegedly practice it. One isolated village by the name of Mamasa is particularly known for its practice of this macabre rite, and there are occasional reports of people sighting these zombies ambling through the wilderness or amongst a procession of family members. In recent years, photos of these alleged zombies have sometimes made the rounds and stirred up debate and controversy. Although the corpses in these photos certainly look real, they are often dismissed as nothing more than a hoax or are perhaps people suffering from some disfiguring disease such as leprosy, that merely gives the illusion of death. Is any of this real or is it all mere folklore and trickery? Do the Toraja really have the power to temporarily raise the dead and make them walk? Whatever the case may be, there is certainly a strong tradition of doing so in South Sulawesi, and some of the villagers here certainly seem to think it is very real. At any rate, it is undoubtedly a creepy tradition in this fascinating society that has taken death and funerals to a whole new level.

INSECURITY AT RED ALERT IN KWARA STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ILORIN, (PART 2) THE BOYS HOSTEL SIDE OF THE STORY

INSECURITY AT RED ALERT IN KWARA STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ILORIN, (PART 2) THE BOYS HOSTEL SIDE OF THE STORY

As we have discussed in our last episode of this interesting article, Insecurity is at the high level of intolerance in the campus and we've talked a bit about the LADIES HOSTEL SIDE OF THE STORY AND NOW WE WILL TALK ABOUT THE BOYS HOSTEL SIDE.

THE BOYS HOSTEL! THE BOYS HOSTEL!! THE BOYS HOSTEL!!! A place where mothers will come and start shaking heads in SYMPATHY that, is this where my child wants to leave? A place where passersby would ask themselves' is this a PRISON YARD OR CONDEMNED BUILDING'
That's the statement being muttered by a student residing on the hostel.
We have two boys hostel in this school since my own arrival o, This one that am leaving is where they call SHEKONI HOSTEL and the other one over there is called SHAABA.here is the interview between our reporter and a student.

ECHOE: FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN HERE SIR?
STUDENT 1: Haaa O ti pe gaan o,(its been long) have been living here since my year one and thank God my days are numbered am now a 300 level student.
ECHOE: SINCE YOU'VE BEEN LIVING HERE, WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING AND YOU THINK IT'S NOT OKAY?
STUDENT 1: Haa Oga mi, o po gaan but maa so die nibe funyin,(Haa it's much but I will tell you a little bit of it) Come and take a look at our surrounding, everywhere is just bushy, both outside and inside, even at times we are always afraid to step out at night because of snakes. And most students living in this area are IJMB students who always go out at night to study in class, also another problem is that since the past few months we have been in darkness in this part of the hostel. No light at all ,only about 3 rooms are having light others will have to visit their friends in shaaba before they can charge their Fone and lamps.
STUDENT 2: The only thing I can say they help us with is water which we do go to chapel before getting before but help us tell them that they should help us oooo.

ECHOE: SINCE ALL THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING, WHO HAVE YOU BEEN REPORTING THE ISSUES TO ?
STUDENT 1: We have been reporting some to the Hostel Portals who told us they have been writing series of letters to the Students affairs units but all to no avail, and the provost have been coming here times without numbers at times with some people but nothing has been done. But since you are here now we implore you to help tell them our problems.

Then we moved to The other Hostel too where we also talked with the habitants.
We were also told several things like NO GOOD TOILETS and KILLING OF SNAKES has also been their well known occupation now,we were also told that there is NO ADEQUATE SECURITY BOTH AT NIGHT AND DAYLIGHT, A student said there was a time the OPC people came to HARASS THE HOSTELITES, CHASING THEM ALL WITH CHARMS AND CUTLASS WHILE PLAYING FOOTBALL IN THE EVENING BESIDE THE HOSTEL, Also they also complained about the BUSH AROUND THE HOSTEL TOO, and also said SOME GUYS SUSPECTED TO BE CULTISTS CAME TO THE HOSTEL SOMETIME AGO THIS YEAR TO BEAT UP A YEAR TWO STUDENT IN HIS HOSTEL ROOM,EVEN THE MAN O WAR PEOPLE DID NOTING.
We implore the offices responsible for these people welfarism and security to please arise to their call...

SHOCKING! A FIVE YEARS OLD GIRL GOT PREGNANT IN PLATEAU STATE. READ AND COMMENT

I CAME ACROSS THIS STRANGE BUT TRUE NEWS THIS MORNING AND DECIDED TO SHARE..

WONDERS SHALL NEVER END, FIVE YEARS GIRL "PREGNANT" IN PLATEAU...

An incident which can aptly be tagged as most outrageous happened in the north central state of Plateau, Nigeria. In a remote and sleepy hamlet of Kanke local government, a little girl of Five was found to be pregnant. According to the child's parents, the perpetrator of the bizzare act is not known but the police has begun an inquiry with the view to fathom the identity of the mystery man or men behind the heinous crime.

Speaking further, they Father of the girl told newsmen that until few months ago,the poor child began to complain of excruciating pains in her groin which they didn't pay commensurate attention to. After a while, they noticed that her breasts were developing, all of which they attributed to early adolescence precocity. Their fears was confirmed after tests were carried out on her when they noticed her protuberant tummy.

They pregnancy test came back with a positive verdict. The locals and family of the girl are still in a state of shock which is quite rational considering the girl's age and biological placing. We contrived to get a photo of the victim and we present it to you for your own perusal and appraisal.

AFTER READING I WAS LEFT WITH NOTHING TO UTTER..COMMENTS PLEASE!!!
